Information About ISCE's New Privacy Policy

Dear Members and Friends of ISCE,

Many of you, particularly if you live in Europe, will recently have been besieged by emails relating to the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). I therefore apologise for troubling you with another such communication.  However, ISCE cannot be an exception to the rule!

You are receiving this email because your email address is currently available to ISCE and this circular is being sent to all those on the list. This is most probably because you have attended an ISCE meeting at some point in the past. In order to remain on the ISCE mailing list and receive details of the annual conference etc, it will be necessary for you to explicitly agree that your name, email address and other details such as your business or university affiliation, for example, are retained on the database to comply with the new GDPR, and in so doing, facilitate future communications.

As President of the Society, I would strongly encourage you to click on the link below in order to submit your name and email address to the Society’s management company so that you will continue to receive communications from ISCE. It will only take a matter of seconds to indicate your willingness to remain on the ISCE mailing list. Please CLICK HERE to continue receiving information, particularly on the annual ISCE conferences.

If you take no action, then we will assume that you do not wish to continue receiving communications from ISCE. If you were to change your mind in the future, then you could simply log in to the ISCE website,, and register your interest.

On a related matter, ISCE has recently updated its privacy policy and you are welcome to review the revised policy by CLICKING HERE.

For your interest, GDPR does not allow the Society to use cookIes to obtain consent from you for storing your information – hence the reason you have been asked above to explicitly agree that your details are retained on the Society database. Many companies appear to have misunderstood the GDPR document and have used cookies for this purpose.  The use of cookies does not require the storage of personal information on the website. Therefore, you can continue to receive emails (with your consent via the method indicated above), even if you do not agree to the use of cookies.

I sincerely hope that you will continue to remain on the ISCE mailing list and I look forward to your participation in future meetings.

Kind Regards,
Peter Macfarlane
